Inside ReBloom

How Tracking Works

Tracking inside ReBloom is nothing like what you've done before

Most women who come to ReBloom have tracked food before — and most found it obsessive, exhausting, or shame-inducing. This page exists to explain exactly what tracking inside ReBloom is, and what it absolutely is not.

The Reframe

You are not tracking to restrict. You are tracking so I can see you.

Here is the most important thing I want you to understand before you log a single meal.

Every piece of data you enter — every calorie, every gram of protein, every sleep score — is not a grade on how well you did. It is information that allows me to actually help you.

Without your data I am guessing. With your data I can see whether you are eating enough. Whether your protein is supporting your muscle. Whether your energy dip on Thursdays is connected to your Tuesday workout. Whether something specific is happening in your body that we need to address.

That is what tracking is for inside ReBloom. Not restriction. Not judgment. Not perfection. Visibility. For both of us.

"You are not tracking to shrink yourself. You are tracking so I can see what your body is actually getting — and give you guidance that is specific to you, not a generic plan."

Tracking is NOT

  • A measure of how disciplined you are
  • Something that restarts if you miss a day
  • A reason to eat less
  • About being perfect every single day
  • The obsessive calorie counting you've done before
  • A punishment or a test

Tracking IS

  • Clinical data that lets me see your patterns
  • The tool that makes personalized feedback possible
  • A way to know if you are eating enough
  • Information — not judgment
  • Something that works even when it's imperfect
  • An act of self-care not self-punishment

What You Actually Track

Three things. That's it. Tracking inside ReBloom is not complicated. You are not weighing every gram of food or logging the exact macros of a homemade recipe. You are giving me enough information to see your patterns and guide you accurately.

1

Calories

Not to restrict — to make sure you are eating enough to fuel rebuilding

2

Protein

The single most important number for muscle building and metabolic health

3

Fiber

For gut health, satiety, and blood sugar regulation

You also log a few daily signals — energy, sleep, mood, and recovery. These take less than a minute and give us a picture of how your body is responding day to day. That context is what turns nutrition data into something meaningful.

Five or more days of logging per week gives us everything we need. You do not need to be perfect every day. Consistency over time matters far more than perfection in any single week.

Simple. A few taps.

Tracking demystified

Here is exactly what logging looks like inside the app. Three screens. That is the whole experience.

Your daily food log

Your daily summary shows calories, protein, and fiber at a glance. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks organized clearly. You can see what you have eaten and what remains — not to restrict, but to know where you are.

Your Daily Food Log

Adding food — three ways

You can log food by taking a photo, scanning a nutrition label, or simply describing what you ate in plain English. "Grilled chicken breast with rice and broccoli, about 6oz chicken" — that is all you need. No weighing. No measuring cups unless you want them. The AI does the rest.

Adding Food — Three Ways

Your nutrition check-in

Once a day you confirm your nutrition — calories, protein, and fiber — and indicate whether your logging was complete, partial, or unlogged. This is where your food log syncs automatically. And notice the reminder built right into this screen: going over calories one or two times a week does not change the program. What matters is coming back to your targets — not restricting after a bigger day.

Your Nutrition Check-In

The Most Important Thing

Read this before your first week:

Did you notice the message on the nutrition check-in screen? "Going over calories 1-2x per week does not change the program. However, restricting after will harm your progress. It is important to resume normal calories so your body stays calm and breaks the binge/restrict cycle."

That message is there because it is one of the most important clinical truths inside ReBloom. A bigger day does not undo your progress. Your body does not work that way. What does harm your progress is the restrict-compensate cycle that follows — eating less the next day to "make up for it." That restriction is the exact signal that tells your body to hold on tighter, slow down, and fight back.

Inside ReBloom — when you have a bigger day, you come back to your targets the next day. Not lower. Not cleaner. Your targets. That is the whole instruction.

This is what breaking the cycle actually looks like in practice.

Common Concerns

Questions I hear every single week

I've tracked before and it made me obsessive. How is this different?

Because the goal is different. Every program you've tracked for before had one purpose — eat less. That creates obsession because you are always fighting your hunger signals. Inside ReBloom you are tracking to make sure you are eating enough. That is a fundamentally different relationship with the data. Most women find that tracking for adequacy rather than restriction feels completely different within the first two weeks.

Do I have to track forever?

No. Tracking is a tool we use during the rebuilding phase to make sure your body is getting what it needs and to give me the data to guide you accurately. As your hunger and fullness cues recalibrate — which happens naturally as your body feels safer — the need for precise tracking reduces. We make that decision together based on your data over time.

What if I miss days?

You keep going. There is no starting over, no penalty, no judgment. Missing days means I have less data to work with that week — my feedback will be less specific. But it does not affect your program or your progress in any permanent way. Five or more days per week is the target. Some weeks will be four. That is real life and ReBloom is built around real life.

What if my calories are already lower than my target?

This is one of the most important things we address in the early weeks. Many women come to ReBloom eating significantly less than their targets — sometimes less than 1,200 calories — after years of restriction. We increase gradually and intentionally. Your body needs time to feel safe with more food. I watch your data closely during this phase and we move at a pace your body can handle.

I don't know how to estimate portions. What do I do?

You learn as you go and you do not need to be precise. A rough estimate is far better than nothing. The AI food logging tool makes this significantly easier — describe what you ate in plain English and it estimates for you. Over time your awareness of portions and macros develops naturally without obsession. That awareness is actually one of the outcomes of the program — not a prerequisite for starting.

Do I need a food scale?

Not required — but if you want one, a basic digital kitchen scale makes logging significantly easier and more accurate. You do not need anything fancy. A simple scale in the $10-20 range works perfectly. Weighing protein sources especially — chicken, beef, fish — takes the guesswork out of the most important number you are tracking. If you do not have one and do not want to buy one, estimating works fine. Do not let the absence of a scale stop you from starting.

I already use MyFitnessPal or another calorie tracker. Do I have to switch?

No — you do not need to switch. If you are already comfortable in another app and want to keep using it, that is completely fine. Just log your daily totals — calories, protein, and fiber — into your ReBloom check-in each day. The goal is getting me the numbers so I can see your patterns and give you accurate feedback. How you get those numbers is up to you.
